In the pages to follow we will be demonstrating some of our latest security using sample video, audio and image content. In this demo we are putting up obstacles to unauthorized capture of survey content. It assumes that you can inform your respondents what to expect and that in order for them to complete the survey, they must meet the requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

Your survey respondents are required to have Javascript and Java enabled in order to view the content and for the security provisions to be activated. To install or enable Java, go here. There are various scripts freely available that will help you detect and autoinstall Java, as well.

WINDOWS ONLY

Unfortunately, the Signed Applet level of security is available only for Windows OS and not for Mac or Linux respondents based upon demand. In a survey you will be expected to filter out those platforms.

MUST AUTHORIZE SIGNED APPLET FOR SECURITY

When you proceed you will be asked to authorize a signed Java applet. A pop up will appear asking for you to authorize the applet (otherwise no content will show).

Click the Run button. Check "Always trust content from this publisher" or the signed applet will ask you to authorize it on every page of the survey.

WARNING - SAVE ALL OPEN DOCUMENTS

Once you authorize the applet on the next page please be warned of the following:

- your ability to screen capture, copy, cut and paste will be lost for the remainder of your browser session (you must close your browser to regain your ability to copy, cut and paste)

- you should save any open documents you have in Word processors, graphic editing programs or other applications that can be used to paste content into as these applications will be terminated and you will not be able to launch them until after you close your browser. These applications have been identified in a blacklist that can be adjusted for each survey. We add to a global backlist that we can apply to your survey or you can identify specific ones for use on your survey. Any new applications can easily be added at any time.
